A beekeeping museum for all the senses

The history of the Plattner Bienenhof

The Plattnerhof near Bolzano has existed for an incredible 600 years. This brings with it a lot of history, which we preserve in our museum. Would you like to find out more?

The development of beekeeping

Starting in ancient times, you can marvel at all kinds of beekeeping equipment in our museum. During our tours, we will explain, for example, why people used to keep bees in skeps instead of the modern hives we use today.

How do bees see? Can the bee actually hear? In the midst of flower meadows, our educational trail leads you through nine stations that engage all your senses in the world of the honey bee.
