History up close – A tour of the farm & beekeeping

Over 600 years old — and not a bit dusty: The Plattner Bee Farm in Wolfsgruben on the Ritten plateau is one of South Tyrol’s oldest farms. Today, visitors can experience how life really was back then — and simultaneously dive into the fascinating world of bees.

Old Life, Real Rooms

In the old farmhouse, the museum shows authentically furnished rooms like the smoke kitchen, the wooden parlor, and the Gothic bedroom. Everything is preserved just as it was used — a real glimpse into everyday life of the past.

Bees, Honey and Craftsmanship

In the basement, in the former stable and barn, visitors find the bee museum. There are old beehives, honey presses, tools, and many stories from beekeeping — all from South Tyrol and all authentic.

Out into the Green

Outside, a nature trail about bees and beekeeping leads through the landscape. It’s designed to be engaging for children and adults, school classes, groups, or simply curious visitors.

Whether as an excursion with the family or as a stop during your South Tyrol holiday — the Plattner Bee Farm is a place to discover, marvel, and learn.

We look forward to seeing you!
