A hallway leads from the original entrance of the farm through doors which are in part Gothic to the living-rooms. The walls are pitch black, because for centuries meat and bacon was smoked-dry in the open fireplace in the hallway. In winter the animals were slaughtered and then the meat was preserved by smoking it.
